My First Birthday Party!

I'M A BIG BOY NOW!!!

I was surrounded by almost all of my family and I didn't reach for the flame as they sang Happy Birthday, granny Kathy bought me the sweetest cake and mommy put a big ole number 1 on it just for me!

I didn't really want to eat the cake although my cousin Stormie was all about it...

I did try a bite that mom fed me...... ...

What I really liked was the tortilla chips with 7-layer dip that daddy gave me...MMMmmm

By the end of the night I had so many toys I didn't know what to play with so I resorted back to the Christmas present that my Nana and Tata gave me...

The last thing I could do before we all collapsed and went to sleep was to sit with my Nana nana and eat one last bottle....whooooo....what a day...week...year....time really does fly when your having fun, growing fast and learning a lot! Thanks to all my family for giving me the best birthday yet!

First Zoo Visit

JANUARY 22, 2009...after my haircut daddy and I made sure that momma was okay without us and then we were off to the Phoenix zoo! I love looking around at all the animals and we were lucky that the rain stopped just long enough for my visit!
Daddy had to chase away this peacock because he was kinda mean, but pretty to look at... It was fun to look over the edge trying to see which animals were up next...I don't like parrots though, they are way too noisy!
The orangutans are silly!
The last thing we did before we left was visit the gift shop and Daddy let me pick out an animal to take home with me...this baby giraffe was too cute not to bring home!!!
I had a great day, it's good to be ONE!!!

First Haircut!

JANUARY 22, 2009...I'm ONE today!!!Thank you dada & mama for my new toys! Today I get a few first...my first birthday...my first haircut... and my first zoo visit (those pictures will be next)! Unfortunately my momma was sick with the flu so it was just me and dad, we had a LOT of fun though!!! This is Lollilocks...haircuts just for us kids... and boy do I have a lot of hair! Dad, what is she gonna do? And what is that sound???

Dad kept me busy by blowing bubbles in my face and pretty soon all of my hair was gone!
See how Handsome...I'm truly a little BOY now!

Family

The family endures because it offers the truth of mortality and immortality within the same group. The family endures because, better than the commune, kibbutz, or classroom, it seems to individualize and socialize its children, to make us feel at the same time unique and yet joined to all humanity, accepted as is and yet challenged to grow, loved unconditionally and yet propelled by greater expectations. Only in the family can so many extremes be reconciled and synthesized. Only in the family do we have a lifetime in which to do it. -Letty Cottin Pogrebi
